The botanical research objectives of the GBY project include:

• Reconstructing the floral habitats around the paleo-Lake Hula during the Acheulian occupations
  
  
• Reconstructing the hominin use of food resources in different seasons in the Upper Jordan Valley
  
  
• Study of the impact of climatic changes on the flora of the Upper Jordan Valley during the Pleistocene
