Paleontology
The study of the fauna of the Early-Middle Pleistocene of the Upper Jordan Valley aims to provide detailed information on:
- The distribution of species, their habitat and their biogeographical origin
- Aspects of how the above data change over time and their contribution to past climatic changes
- The wider perspective of how these changes relate to contemporaneous faunas in Africa and Europe and to similar ecological and environmental conditions
- Taphonomic aspects of the faunal assemblages
- Hominin patterns and strategies related to animal exploitation
